CS Minerul Motru is a Romanian football club. Founded in 1962, its home ground is the "Minerul" stadium in Motru. Cupa Romaniei best achievement "Last 16" season 2005-2006 against FCM Bacău . The club has participated in Regional championship in period 1962-1968, then in the championship of Divizia C in period 1968-1973 (ranking on first place in season 1972-73), and has also participated in Divizia B, season 1973-74. Totally, the team from Motru played 15 editions of championship in Divizia B, in periods: 1973-74, 1975–76, 1982–85, 1988–91, 1995–2000 and 2003-2005.
